The most significant winter storm of the season has resulted in slippery travel and school closures across the region. Snowfall will continue at times during the morning on Tuesday, Feb. 28 after arriving Monday evening, Feb. 27. The timing of the system had led to the closures of hundreds of school districts in New York and Connecticut. Here Are Latest Projected Snowfall Totals As Storm System Moves Through Region
New projected snowfall totals have been released as a storm system moves through the Northeast on Sunday, Dec. 11 with up to a half-foot of accumulation possible in some interior areas in New York and Connecticut mainly north of Interstate 84. The latest projected accumulation totals are shown in the first image above from AccuWeather.com with areas in light blue expected to see 1 to 3 inches of snowfall, and 3 to 6 inches forecast for areas in darker blue. Storm Bringing Wintry Mix Will Drop Up To A Foot Of Snow In Parts Of Northeast
Most of the region will see rain and sleet from a wintry storm that will sweep through the region over the weekend, but parts of the Northeast could see up to a half-foot to a foot of snow. Saturday, Dec. 18 will be dreary with cold rain at times in areas farther south during the day and mixed precipitation and snow farther north during the day and into the evening. Alert Issued For Man Wanted On Four Active Warrants In CT
Police are asking the public for help locating a man wanted on multiple arrest warrants in the region. Brandon Cauley has four active warrants for his arrest in Northern Connecticut, the Enfield Police Department said on Wednesday, Nov. 10. Unattended Bag With Opiate Overdose Kits Found At CT Pond
A police agency in Northern Connecticut is taking steps to help area residents battle addiction after founding opiate “overdose kits” near an area pond. Officers from the Enfield Police Department in Hartford County on patrol around the Freshwater Pond on Thursday, July 22 found an unattended bag laying on the ground containing multiple kits that are used to safely aid addicts.
