The bodies of two Fairfield County men who were missing after jumping from a boat in Candlewood Lake have been recovered by police. House Fire Sends Firefighter To Hospital, 14 Residents Displaced In Danbury
A Fairfield County firefighter was taken to the hospital and 14 residents were left homeless following a two-alarm house fire. The blaze started in Danbury just after 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 17 on Locust Avenue. Arriving firefighters found a 3-story, multi-family home with heavy smoke emitting from multiple sides, said Capt. Kevin Lunnie of the Danbury Fire Department. As crews made entry into the home they found a significant fire in the basement extending into the upper floors, Lunnie said. Horses Rescued After Fire Breaks Out At Barn Just Over New Fairfield Line
Around a dozen horses had to be rescued from a barn that caught on fire in the Hudson Valley, fire officials announced. The incident happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, Jan. 10 around 8:20 p.m., when the hay storage area inside a barn at the High Point Equestrian Center at 572 East Branch Rd. in Patterson caught on fire, according to the Putnam Lake Fire Department. Two-Alarm House Fire Breaks Out In Danbury
Danbury fire crews responded to a two-alarm house fire that broke out on Thursday, March 7 around 7:40 a.m. The blaze occurred on Clairanne Drive off of Kingswood Road. Fire crews discovered smoke billowing from the roof and garage of a two-story occupied residence. The occupants were evacuated safely while crews worked to combat the blaze. New Fairfield Fire Department was also requested to the scene with two tankers in order to supply Danbury vehicles with water since the fire occurred in an area without hydrants.
