ID Released For Fairfield County Man Killed After SUV Plunges Into Harbor On Christmas Eve Police have released the identity of a 33-year-old Fairfield County man whose vehicle plunged into an icy harbor on Christmas Eve. Bridgeport resident Jamal Gordon died during the early morning hours on Saturday, Dec. 24 after his BMW SUV left the roadway and landed in Bridgeport Harbor, said Capt. Brian Fitzgerald of the Bridgeport Police. The incident began around 2:50 a.m. when the department received a call of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Stratford Avenue and Waterview Avenue, Fitzgerald said. ID Released For Man Pulled From Pond In Bridgeport Police have identified the man who was pulled from Bunnells Pond in Beardsley Park in January. James Freeman, 50, of Bridgeport, was found in the water after a passerby call 911 around 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, said Bridgeport Police. He was pronounced dead at the scene after being pulled unclothed and frozen from the pond. In January police said there were no indications of foul play even though his clothes were found with a small amount of blood on them.  Currently, the Medical Examiner's Office is awaiting toxicology reports before issuing a cause of death.
