Pair Of Monroe Massage Parlors Closed For Illicit Activity, Police Say
Two Fairfield County massage parlors have been closed after police received complaints from residents of alleged illicit activity. The two Monroe businesses, the Crystal Spa, at 500 Monroe Turnpike and the Blue Rose Spa at 115 Main St., were closed on Tuesday, Jan. 23. According to Lt. Stephen Corrone of the Monroe Police, after receiving the complaints, the department contacted the state Department of Labor regarding the unnamed activity. Trio Nabbed For Robbing Woman, Stealing Her Car At Mall In CT
Three Fairfield County teenagers were captured after allegedly robbing a woman and stealing her car in a busy area mall parking lot. The incident took place in Trumbull around 2:45 p.m., Thursday, May 19 at the Westfield Trumbull Mall parking lot. A 59-year-old woman was loading her car in the mall parking lot when she was surrounded by three Bridgeport who demanded her car keys, said Lt. Brian Weir, of the Trumbull Police. CT State Police Investigating Fatal Shooting Of 14-Year-Old
Police are investigating after a 14-year-old boy was fatally shot in Connecticut. The Waterbury Police Department received a report at about 3:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 25, that the boy was brought to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury with a gunshot wound to the back of the head, according to Connecticut State Police. Man Busted Attempting To Cash Fraudulent Check At Fairfield County Bank, Police Say
A 49-year-old man was busted in Fairfield County for attempting to cash a fraudulent check. Johnny Rivera, of New Haven, was arrested on Monday, Jan. 4, at Union Saving Bank in Monroe for charges involving fraudulent activity, said Monroe Police Lt. Stephen Corrone. According to Corrone, around 3 p.m. the department received a complaint from employees of the Union Savings Bank concerning an individual who walked up to the drive-through window attempting to cash a check they believed to be fraudulent. A Fairfield County man was charged with two misdemeanors after firing a revolver at targets he had set up on a woodpile on his property, according to police. Luis Murillo of Monroe, 50, denied that he had been shooting the .38 revolver found unloaded in his waistband, despite bullet holes in his handmade targets and shell casings littering the ground, Monroe Police said. Monroe is mourning the loss of its Town Attorney who died unexpectedly earlier this week. Jeremy Hayden, 41, who was found dead at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 29, had been Monroe’s town attorney since he was appointed by First Selectman Ken Kellogg in December 2017. A 32-year-old man has been arrested by Monroe Police for a business burglary that took place last October. Jacob Bardin, Danbury, was arrested on Monday, Feb. 4, for a commercial burglary that took place at TLC Inc. located at 742 Main Street in Monroe on Oct. 1, 2018, said Monroe Police Lt. Have you seen him?Police are asking the public for help in identifying a man who allegedly robbed a bank inside a local supermarket. The robbery took place just before 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at the People's Bank inside the Stop & Shop on Route 111 in Monroe, Monroe Police said. Know Him? Police Search For Suspect In Area Subway Shop Robbery
Police are asking the public for help identifying a man who robbed a Subway Shop over the weekend.According to Monroe Police, the man entered the Subway shop on Route 111 at around 6:13 p.m. Sunday and implied that he had a gun. The man, wearing dark glasses and a hat pulled low on his head, then demanded the clerk place all of the money in a sandwich bag and left the shop, police said. Update: Monroe's Route 34 Reopens After Crash Involving School Bus
Update: Route 34 in Monroe reopened to traffic in both directions at about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday. The driver of the van was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Waterbury Hospital with “potentially life-threatening injuries” after the crash with a school bus on Route 34 near the Stevenson Dam, police told the Monroe Courier.
