One of Connecticut's most popular breweries will soon open up a new food hall serving up carefully selected cuisine that is meant to pair perfectly with the company's beer. The Stratford-based Two Roads Brewing Company will officially open up the all-new Two Roads Food Hall + Bar at 1625 Stratford Ave. on Saturday, June 24 at 11 a.m., the brewery announced. Seafood lovers on the hunt for fresh shellfish have a new option to check out in Connecticut. In Fairfield County, Bell’s Shellfish will officially open the doors to its new shop in Stratford on Thursday, Sept. 8. Located in Stratford, at 681 Access Road, the company “proudly harvests clams and Stratford Point Oysters year-round,” according to its website. Amazon To Open Facility In Fairfield County
Amazon is set to open a new distribution center in Fairfield County early next year, potentially creating hundreds of jobs for area residents. Shakespeare Theater Fire Called 'Devastating' By Stratford Mayor As State Joins Investigation
The loss of the iconic Shakespeare Theater in an overnight three-alarm fire described as "devastating" for the Stratford community by Mayor Laura Hoydick, who announced state officials have joined the investigation. Democrat Wins In 40-Year GOP Stronghold Stratford House District Seat
For the first time in more than four decades, the 120th district, which includes most of Stratford, will be represented by a Democrat in Connecticut's House of Representatives. Democrat Phil Young topped Republican Bill Cabral in a special election on Tuesday to represent the 120th district, which has been held by the GOP for 44 years.
