Speeding Stop In Westport Results In Gun, Drug Charges A 23-year-old man wanted for failing to appear for court proceedings in Fairfield County was busted by police in Westport over the weekend with an illegal handgun following a routine speeding stop. Officers on patrol at approximately 9 a.m. on Sunday morning on Bayberry Lane stopped Tony Bowens, Jr. of Shelton in a vehicle driving 63 mph in a 25 mph zone. During the subsequent stop, officers reported the “distinct odor of marijuana” coming from the vehicle, prompting further investigation.
