Eversource Energy has given an update on its efforts to restore power to customers after Tropical Storm Elsa moved through the region. Eversource Energy and various Connecticut police departments are issuing a new scam alert. According to the utility company, some scammers are making phone calls claiming that your gas or electric account is delinquent and service will be shut off without immediate payment. Others are going door-to-door asking to look at a copy of your energy bill. "This is NOT us!!" Eversource CT announced on Twitter. Hang up on such callers, ask for ID from visitors and if you believe you are being scammed, don't hesitate to call your local police department.
