Trump Frees NY Financier In Billion-Dollar Fraud, Blasts Case As ‘Weaponization Of Justice’
President Donald Trump commuted the prison sentence of a New York private equity executive convicted in a massive fraud scheme involving more than 10,000 investors. David Gentile, 57, of Manhasset, the former CEO and owner of GPB Capital Holdings, had been serving a seven-year federal sentence after his 2024 conviction on securities and wire fraud charges, as Daily Voice reported. The White House on Monday, Dec. 1, confirmed the commutation, which does not appear to apply to his co-defendant, Jeffry Schneider of Ascendant Capital. Gentile and Schneider were convicted in August 2024 followi…

The Dania Beach, Florida-based airline previously emerged from bankruptcy in March, after Spirit shed nearly $800 million in debt and secured $350 million in new equity. FCC Clears Paramount-Skydance Deal, Critics Slam 'Cowardly Capitulation' To Trump
The Federal Communications Commission has approved Skydance Media's $8 billion takeover of Paramount Global, which critics have blasted as a move to appease President Donald Trump. The FCC cleared the deal in a 2-1 partisan vote on Thursday, July 24, officially creating the Paramount Skydance Corporation. The approval comes about three weeks after Paramount agreed to pay $16 million to settle a lawsuit from Trump that many legal experts called frivolous. In approving the deal, the FCC said Skydance has committed to what the two Republican commissioners consider to be "unbiased journali…

Jack Ciattarelli has a message for New Yorkers: Move to Jersey. The Republican candidate for New Jersey governor took to social media after former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo conceded the Democratic mayoral primary to Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, a 33-year-old democratic socialist. “Tonight is proof that the modern Democratic Party has lost its mind,” Ciattarelli said in a post on Tuesday, June 24. “To all the residents and business owners of New York City who don’t want a socialist, defund-the-police, antisemitic mayor representing them, I encourage you to move to New Jersey.” Cuomo had bee…

Connecticut AG Blasts 'Offensive' Federal Lawsuit Accusing Yale Of Anti-White, -Asian Policy
The Connecticut AG is calling the U.S. Department of Justice lawsuit against Yale's alleged discrimination against white and Asian-American people “politically motivated,” “offensive” and a “complete overreach.” On Thursday, Oct. 8, the U.S. Attorney’s Office filed a lawsuit against Yale University alleging its admission policies are racist for seeking to racially “balance” the university’s population. Many colleges and universities create diversity recruitment goals in an effort to bolster equity. “The [Trump] Administration has fully embraced its racist mantle as the last gasp of this fai…

Alleged racist posts from incoming and current University of Connecticut students are under investigation, possibly leading to some admissions being revoked. University President Thomas Katsouleas posted on social media this week that the school has launched an investigation. “I want to acknowledge that the University has received numerous complaints regarding social media posts from some incoming students, and calls for revoking their admission,” Katsouleas said. “A number of the posts we are aware of appear racist in nature, which is abhorrent to us, and the University has proceeded with …

Blackface Photos Lead To Suspension Of Two CT HS Students
Two high school students in Connecticut have been suspended after posting photos of themselves on social media featuring “blackface.” Officials with the Simsbury School District suspended a pair of students for a day after the photos surfaced earlier this month, which led to a vocal outcry from area residents and the Greater Hartford NAACP. The incident has led to the district cooperating with the NAACP and other outside organizations to “bring in more diversity and equity programming.” According to reports, members of the NAACP were not satisfied with the one-day suspension and proposed mo…
