Two Connecticut women were arrested this week after police seized more than 100 animals at their home in varying states of care and eight dead animals in their freezer, authorities said.
Kristal Lis is charged with 119 counts of animal cruelty and Sandris Lis, both of Coventry, is facing 19 counts of the charge, Coventry Police said.

A woman has been arrested for allegedly throwing her dog out a car window as the vehicle was moving in Fairfield County.
Helen Skulski, age 56, of Wilton, turned herself in to Norwalk Police on Friday, March 26 after a warrant was issued for her arrest, said Norwalk Police Sgt Sofia Gulino.
According to Gulino, on Tuesday, March 9, at approximately 2:07 p.m., Norwalk Police received a phone call from a motorist who said she saw a dog being tossed out of a moving vehicle.

Stratford's John Rich, 'Hero To Canines,' Dies At 56
John Edward Rich, 56, a hero to canines and their human companions in town, died Friday, Jan. 26 at Bridgeport Hospital.
The cause was complications from diabetes, a disease that he battled for years.
Mr. Rich was born Oct. 15, 1961 in Bridgeport, the son of Carol (Taylor) Rich and the late John B. Rich, Jr. of Stratford. He grew up in Lordship and was a life-long resident of Stratford.
