19: Brand-New Study Reveals Percentage Of Americans Who've Had Long COVID
A new study has revealed just how prevalent cases of so-called Long COVID are among Americans. According to the investigation by Dartmouth College and the University College London, one in seven Americans -- about 14 percent -- had Long COVID by the end of 2022. Long COVID occurs when symptoms of the virus persist for more than three months after the initial infections. 19: Ivy League Cancels Football Season, Puts All Sports On Hold Till At Least January
The Ivy League has canceled all fall sports, including football, and will reevaluate whether to allow athletes to compete after Jan. 1, 2021, according to multiple reports. An official announcement is expected Wednesday evening, July 8. With the move, the league becomes the first Division I conference that will not play sports in the fall. Darien HS Grad John Timbers of Bethel, Assistant US Attorney, Lawyer In Stamford, Dies At 76
A Stamford attorney from Bethel who served as an assistant U.S. Attorney in New York during his career has died. John W. Timbers died at home on Thursday, May 23. He was 76. Timbers was born in Brooklyn in 1942 to Charlotte T. Timbers and the Hon. William H. Timbers who later served as a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Timbers graduated from Darien High School in 1960 and from Dartmouth College in 1964, after which he attended the University of Edinburgh in Scotland as a Rotary Scholar.
