Police have added new charges to a Connecticut man accused of a crash last year that killed a father of young twin daughters, authorities announced on Monday, Sept. 16.
Middlesex County resident Angel Caraballo, age 43, of Middlefield, was charged last week with second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle, second-degree reckless endangerment, and reckless driving linked to the Sept. 22, 2023, crash, Connecticut State Police said.

Girl, 9, Rescued From Swimming Pool At Danbury Home
A 9-year-old girl was rescued from a Fairfield County swimming pool by a bystander who administered first aid.
The incident occurred in Danbury around 3 p.m., Sunday, May 25, at a home on Westwood Terrace.
According to Erin Henry, spokesperson for the Danbury Fire Department, the girl, who was unconscious, was recovered from the backyard swimming pool by a bystander.
That person immediately administered first aid to the child, and by the time emergency services arrived, Henry said she was breathing on her own.
She was transported to the hospital by EMS.

Woman's Quick Actions Save Drowning Child In Fairfield County, Police Say
A Fairfield County woman is credited with saving the life of a child after she pulled the girl from a community swimming pool.
The incident took place in Trumbull at the Ten Apartments, 100 Oakview Drive on Thursday, June 9.
The victim, a 5-year-old Trumbull girl, was found unresponsive in the water at about 6 p.m. and was pulled out of the water, said Lt. Brian Weir, of the Trumbull Police.
A bystander at the pool saw what was occurring, immediately stepped in to help, and began doing CPR and rescue breathing on the girl, Weir said.

A 53-year-old Norwalk man is alive thanks to the efforts of first responders and hospital employees after suffering a cardiac event.
Todd Boe, of Norwalk, knew he had a heart condition called dilated cardiomyopathy, which affects his heart’s ability to pump blood effectively, said staff with Norwalk Hospital.
But for the past several years, Boe's had been living with his condition successfully, until the evening of July 6, when for no reason he suffered a life-threatening cardiac event when he collapsed during a family dinner outing, they said.

Lifeguard From New Canaan Gets Probation For Chelsea Piers Near Drowning
A Stamford judge has allowed a former Chelsea Piers lifeguard who almost let a 5-year-old New Canaan boy drown last year to take part in a court diversionary program, according to multiple sources.
Zachary Stein, 24, of New Canaan, originally charged with reckless endangerment and risk of injury, will have a clean record once he completes the program in 2020, officials said.
During the program, Stein will not be allowed to work as a lifeguard or any similar type of employment, Judge Gary White ruled.
