Man Screaming For Help Rescued From Drowning By Police Officers In Fairfield County Two Fairfield County police officers came to the rescue of a man who was screaming for help and drowning after jumping into the Long Island Sound to save his dog. The incident took place in Bridgeport around 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 18 near the Seaside Park Bathhouse. The officers responded after the department received a 911 call of a person in the water, screaming and possibly drowning, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for the City of Bridgeport.
