Woman, 26, Killed In I-91 Crash Caused By Intoxicated Driver: Police
Police say an intoxicated Connecticut driver started a three-car, chain-reaction crash on I-91 in Hartford County that killed a 26-year-old woman and sent others to the hospital.
Jada Marie Upshaw, of Bloomfield in Hartford County, was killed around 8:45 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, in Rocky Hill, Connecticut State Police said.
The crash happened when a BMW — for seemingly no reason — veered into a neighboring lane and cashed into Upshaw's Nissan near Exit 23 in the southbound lanes, a police report said.

A woman and teen have been charged after a 24-year-old Connecticut man was shot and killed allegedly by a 17-year-old during a party.
The incident occurred in Hartford County around 7:40 a.m., Saturday, July 13, on Evan Lane in Bloomfield.
Capt. Stephen Hajdasz of the Bloomfield Police said officers located the victim, a Bloomfield resident, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the neck.

A 31-year-old Connecticut man was found gunned down on a city street and the suspect on the run is considered armed and dangerous.
The incident took place in Hartford County around 8:50 a.m., Monday, Dec. 4 in the area of 590 Bloomfield Ave., in Bloomfield.
Timothy Ross, of Bloomfield, was found dead when officers responded to a report of a shooting, according to Capt. Stephen Hajdasz of the Bloomfield Police.

The first victim was shot in Hartford around 12:30 a.m., Sunday, in the area of 675 Wethersfield Ave.

Deer Collisions On Connecticut Roadways Expected To 'Increase By Leaps, Bounds,' AAA Warns
With fall in full swing and days becoming shorter, deer collisions on Connecticut roadways "increase by leaps and bounds," warns AAA Northeast.
"Drivers need to steer clear of deer beginning this month, the start of deer mating season in Connecticut, when more deer traverse wooded areas along the state’s roadways at twilight," said the AAA.
Although animal-related crashes are costly and dangerous to drivers, they’re generally underreported, AAA Northeast spokeswoman Fran Mayko said.
