Apartment Fire Breaks Out In Fairfield County
A mother and her child were evacuated by firefighters from their Fairfield County apartment after a fire broke out in their master bedroom, according to officials. Norwalk firefighters said they responded to the Avalon Apartments on Belden Avenue at approximately 9:12 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15 with four engines, two trucks, a rescue team and a command vehicle. Weeks after being charged in a stabbing, a Norwalk teenager is now facing rape allegations involving a middle school student, police said. Emmanuel Diaz, 18, was arrested earlier this month after being implicated in a stabbing that took place shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 on Belden Avenue in Norwalk. Teen Accused Of Stabbing Girl Surrenders To Norwalk Police
An 18-year-old man wanted for a stabbing in Norwalk has been arrested after turning himself into police. The stabbing took place around 7:26 p.m., Saturday, May 4, on Belden Avenue, said Norwalk Police Lt. Terrence Blake. Arriving officers located a female juvenile victim who had been stabbed in the leg. The victim was transported to Norwalk Hospital with non-life threatening injuries by Norwalk Hospital EMS, Blake said. An alleged bank robber already on supervised release from the Department of Corrections Parole and Community Services is back behind bars after allegedly threatening a teller with a gun and stealing money, police said. Officers from the Norwalk Police Department were dispatched to the People’s Bank on Belden Avenue at approximately 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, where there was a reported robbery. Car Crashes Into Police Cruiser In Norwalk
A Norwalk Police cruiser was involved in a crash on Belden Avenue on Friday. The cruiser was rear-ended by another vehicle, police said. The officer was not seriously injured. "We remind all motorists to be aware of their surroundings and always have your eyes on the road," police said.
