10 Displaced Following Bridgeport Fire
Ten people were left homeless following a fire at the Crescent Crossing apartment complex in Bridgeport on Sunday morning. The fire started around 10:49 a.m. at the complex at 160 Church St., said Michael A. Caldaroni, assistant fire chief with the Bridgeport Fire Department. When crews arrived they located a kitchen fire in apartment #413 that had been extinguished by the automatic sprinkler system. Three-Alarm Townhouse Fire Spreads Quickly In Danbury
A three-alarm fire spread to four townhouse units in short time early Friday morning in Danbury. Danbury Fire units were alerted by 911 around 6:40 a.m. Friday of a reported fire in a townhouse at 120 Triangle Street, said James Gagliardo, communication coordinator for the department. Red Cross, Danbury Fire Department Partner To Offer Free Smoke Alarms
The City of Danbury Fire Department in partnership with the American Red Cross spent their St. Patrick's Day visiting residents to install free smoke alarms as a way to help reduce/eliminate fire-related deaths and injuries. The American Red Cross is assisting a Stratford family that is cleaning up the damage from a Wednesday afternoon house fire. Firefighters were dispatched to a Mary Avenue home at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, where there were reports of a structure fire, officials said. The call came as crews were cleaning up from an earlier fire on Howard Street. Danbury Family Displaced By Weekend Fire
DANBURY, Conn. — A family was displaced early Saturday when a basement fire caused damage to their Padanaram Road home, according to Danbury fire officials. Firefighters were called to the home just before 7:30 a.m. on a report of smoke in the basement along with the odor of gas, said James Gagliardo, the department’s public information officer. Units quickly located the source and extinguished the blaze, he said. The American Red Cross was brought in to the assist the family. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
