Dog Walker Approached By Coyote In New Canaan Park
Police and animal control in Fairfield County are warning residents to be on the lookout for wild animals in parks and woods after a dog walker was approached by a coyote. The incident took place in New Canaan around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 19 in the Jeniam Meadow at Waveny Park. According to New Canaan Animal Control Officer Allyson Halm, a woman was walking her dog when she noticed a coyote following them about two feet behind. Popular Walking Trail In Fairfield County Reopens After Deer Attacks On People
A popular Fairfield County walking trail has reopened after several walkers were attacked by deer. The incidents in New Canaan took place on the Greenlink Trail associated with the New Canaan Land Trust and were first reported on Thursday, June 9. The first incident took place when two women were walking the trail and came upon an aggressive doe and a yearling, also on the trail who would not move, said New Canaan Police Animal Control Officer Allyson Halm. Residents On High Alert After Reports Of Bears Killing Chickens In Fairfield County Town
Animal Control officers in Connecticut are warning residents to be on alert after bears reportedly got into an area chicken coop, killing at least two of them. In Fairfield County, the New Canaan Police Department issued a warning after bears killed multiple chickens as they prepare to fatten themselves up before hibernating for the winter. Animal Control Officer Allyson Halm said the coop was broken into sometime overnight between Saturday, Nov. 6 and Sunday, Nov. 7, and two chickens were killed, one of which was partially consumed.
