Brookfield Superintendent Looks To Move School District Past Scandal

BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- Superintendent John Barile, the new head of the Brookfield school district, along with a new group of administrators, is ready to tackle the problems that led the district to scandal and even the arrest of its former superintendent and his assistant, according to Newstimes.com.

The former superintendent, Tony Bivona and his assistant Liz Kerekes, who currently have cases pending in court, are accused of tens of thousands of dollars in questionable spending, reported the news source.

To help with all of the work ahead for Barile, the district has hired a host of new administrators to help him with the task including, said Newstimes.

Since taking over, Barile said he has been using social media to reach out to the community in hopes of gaining its trust, saying he needs to rebuild the relationship with the city, parents and residents, added the Newstimes.
