Stackowitz, who went by the alias Bob Gordon, is 71 and was found after filing for Social Security benefits "under his real name," a discovery made by the Georgia Corrections Department, said The New York Times.

The agency "had long since stopped actively looking" the fugitive, according to the report.

He was arrested by federal marshals, with the accompaniment of a Connecticut state trooper, said the newspaper.
