Andre Edness of 381 Kent Cornwall Road, Kent, sustained a fatal gunshot wound in the Friday evening incident, State Police spokesman Sgt. Eric Haglund said.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will be conducting an autopsy to determine exact cause and manner of death, Haglund said.
A person of interest has been taken into custody, but that individual has not been placed under arrest, he said. No information has been released on the person of interest.
The person is fully cooperating with detectives, and the investigation remains active.

The incident occurred at approximately 6 p.m., when Edness sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound, Haglund said.
He was transported to a hospital, and Haglund reported at about 9:15 p.m. Friday that Edness had died.
State Troopers from Troop L are investigating the incident along with detectives from Major Crime, who also responded to the scene to assist with this investigation.
Kent Cornwall Road/Route 7 was closed between Carter Road and Cobble Road for hours after the shooting, according to State Police.
