Brookfield Firefighters Tackle Burning Brush, Help At Smoke-Filled Home

BROOKFIELD, Conn. — Both Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department companies were kept busy by responding to five separate incidents from Saturday night into Sunday morning, according to a Facebook post.  One incident was a large brush fire that broke out between houses on South Lake Shore Drive in the Candlewood Shores neighborhood, the post said.

Also, a large house on Christian Lane filled up with smoke. 

Other incidents included two carbon monoxide emergencies and a call to assist EMS, the Facebook post said.
