All of Connecticut and the entire metropolitan New York area are under a Wind Advisory until 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Westerly winds of 15 to 25 mph were blowing, with gusts of up to 50 mph. The National Weather Service warned of the possibility of power outages, downed tree limbs and difficulty driving due to the strong winds.
A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph are occurring or gusts of up to 46 to 57 mph.
