updated at 11 p.m.: FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — As strong winds began to blow Monday evening across Fairfield County, Eversource and United Illuminating were reporting that a number of customers were without power.

- Danbury: 774 customers
- Darien: 98 customers
- Fairfield: 35 outages
- Greenwich: all repaired, down from 40 customers
- Monroe: 220 customers, down from 404 customers
- New Canaan: 18 customers
- Newtown: 215 customers
- Norwalk: 47 customers
- Ridgefield: 56 customers
- Redding: 52 customers
- Sherman: 9 customers
- Stamford: 6 customers
- Trumbull: 44 customers
- Weston: 33 customers
- Westport: 3 customers
- Wilton: 125 customers, down from 248 customers
All of Connecticut and the entire metropolitan New York area are under a Wind Advisory until 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Westerly winds of 15 to 25 mph were blowing, with gusts of up to 50 mph. The National Weather Service warned of the possibility of power outages, downed tree limbs and difficulty driving due to the strong winds.
A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph are occurring or gusts of up to 46 to 57 mph.
