Sherman Historical Society Kicks Off 'Hooked On History' Program For Kids

SHERMAN, Conn. -- The Sherman Historical Society is offering a new program geared for children entering first- to third-grade called "Hooked on History."

The program will be offered from Monday, June 13 to Thursday, June 16, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

It will give children a hands-on approach to what life was like as a child during a certain period of time in history.

To kick off this new program, the Sherman Historical Society will focus on 18th century Colonial times. 

Activities will include cooking, chores, stories and songs, sports and games, crafts and other activities. 

Cost is $150, which will include all materials, supplies, water and a snack. 

Children will need to bring a lunch, reusable water bottle, and have sunblock and insect spray applied prior to arriving. 

Registration and payment is due b: Friday, May 27. Since this is the first year of the program, it will be limited to 20 children.
