Catch Magician & Pokemon At Family Day At Sherman Historical Society

SHERMAN, Conn. — The Sherman Historical Society will hosts its Family Day from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 16, with "Magic, Music & More!" — and that "more" will include a ‎Pokemon Go‬ lure.

The renowned Mario the Magician, a reading and book signing of the new children's book "Slippery Soap," music by Al Burgasser, refreshments and a raffle are all on the agenda along with tours of the Northrop House. 

The cost is $25 per family or $10 per individual. The event will be held rain or shine at 10 Route 37 Center, Sherman. Parking is available at the Sherman School or Veterans Field. 

The Pokemon Go‬ lure will be dropped at the Sherman Historical Society at 3:30 p.m. Mario the Magicia performs at 4 p.m. 

Mario "the Magician" Marchese is an artist and inventor who creates his own props. He is known for his dedication to the Maker Movement and STEAM/STEM initiatives and his clever and refreshing integration of DIY electronics and robotics into his performance. 

Despite his use of cutting-edge technology, he never sacrifices the old-school slapstick vibe that audiences love. Mario has recently made appearances on "Sesame Street," NBCUniversal’s "Sprout" Channel, and live at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, World Maker Faire New York, the American Museum of Natural History, and more.
