The plea asks for help to save the ministry from extinction.
The charity founded in 2000 by Peter Brady and wife Carol Ann repairs homes for those less fortunate at no cost to the clients.
Clients range from those with handicaps, widows, seniors, recovering addicts and the unemployed, according to the Crowdrise page.
With the help of 2,200 volunteers, more than 1,000 families have been helped in the Danbury region and neighboring communities, according to the charity.
However, due to financial constraints the non-profit is in risk of having to close its doors. It only has enough funds to continue its mission for about four months, so it has launched the campaign to keep the doors open. The goal cited on the page is to raise $100,000 for Handy Dandy Handyman.
The organization does repair work for people who cannot afford it or do it themselves, according to an NBC "Nightly News" report that was posted on YouTube with a link on the Crowdrise page.
The segment covers an annual "Rake and Bake" project Brady's charity conducts whereby volunteers rake leaves for neighbors. The volunteers featured on the clip call it "a beloved tradition."
Other projects involve carpentry and electrical work.
Recently, Brady's crew built a handicap accessible ramp for a homeowner in Danbury.
"I started with 10 volunteers and two clients and here with over 1,000," Brady said in the "Nightly News" segment.
