SHERMAN, Conn. — The Sherman Public Library is hosting "Relaxation with Yoga Nidra" on the first Friday of the month.
Join Sherman resident Mariya Hurwitz for an evening of gentle yoga and guided relaxation followed by a social gathering and refreshments. The classes are held from 7 to 8 p.m. and are free.
The first Friday program offers a way to relax, unwind and spend time with other members of the community. Classes are open to all adults and no experience or special clothing is required. Bring a mat or blanket and dress comfortably.
Hurwitz has been teaching yoga to adults and children for 15 years. She is also a corporate professional and mother who uses yoga and meditation to maintain a happy and healthy work/life balance.
She especially enjoys sharing her joy of yoga, and her classes are infused with playfulness, creative movement and music.
