Sherman Opens Cooling Center At Senior Center

SHERMAN, Conn. — Extreme high temperatures and poor air quality has led the town to open a Cooling Center at the Sherman Senior Center until 4 p.m. Thursday, according to a Tweet from the town.

High temperatures today will approach 90 degrees, with strong thunderstorms and heavy rains possible, according to the National Weather Service.

The heat wave is expected to continue on Friday.
