Hope for Heroes is a non-profit organization that combines a love for outdoor activities, with emotional and spiritual healing for military, fire, police, and EMS personnel, who’ve experienced life altering disabilities while in the line of duty.
The organization was founded in 2010 by retired Westchester County K9 Police Officer and U.S. Army 101st Airborne Scout Sniper, Mitch Serlin.
After a personal battle with PTSD, Serlin learned he was not alone. Fellow officers and friends were also suffering with similar issues. The organization works to change that mindset by creating experiences that are physically and emotionally possible for all.
The event gets underway at 10 a.m. on the course located at Brookfield High School, 45 Longmeadow Hill Road.
Awards will be presented in each age bracket from 8-years-old to those age 70 and over.
