Wind Advisory Added To Rainy Forecast For Bridgeport

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Along with heavy rain in the forecast along with possible hail, Fairfield County is also under a Wind Advisory on Wednesday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

The throngs of walkers who crowded Bridgeport's St. Mary's-By-The-Sea promenade during last weekend's balmy temperatures were nowhere to be found Tuesday afternoon.

The Wind Advisory will remain in effect until 4 a.m. Thursday for all of interior and coastal Connecticut.

Strong southerly winds of 15 to 25 mph will gust up to 50 mph into the evening. The winds could be powerful enough to bring down tree limbs and power lines, causing power outages.

The strong winds could also make for difficult driving conditions.

Rain showers and areas of fog will continue into Wednesday evening with temps in the mid-40s.

Rain and thunderstorms are possible into the overnight, with small hail and heavy rain possible. Areas of fog will continue as the temperature rises to around 58 by 11 p.m.

Another inch or more of rain could fall.

On Thursday, there is a slight chance of showers before noon. It will be mostly cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 42 by 5 p.m.
