The warming trend started Sunday as temperatures hit the mid-50s under mostly cloudy skies, the National Weather Service said. Temperatures will fall to about 38 degrees Sunday night.

There is a chance of patchy fog after midnight until 9 a.m. under mostly cloudy skies.

Monday will bring a 30 percent chance of showers with a high of around 50 degrees. On Monday night, temperatures will drop to around 35.

The unseasonably warm temperates are nearly 15 degrees above average for the first week of February.

Tuesday daytime temperatures will be about 45 to 47 degrees under mostly sunny skies. But after midnight Tuesday, forecasters are predicting a 50 percent chance of rain — but not snow — as temperatures drop to around 40 degrees.

Prepare to get wet on Wednesday, thought, as steady rain is in the forecast as high temperatures are expected to soar into the mid-50s, forecaster say.

Rain continues Wednesday night and temperatures will drop to the mid-30s but should stay above freezing in most of Fairfield County.
