Sunny Skies To Give Way To Showers, Thunderstorms In Bridgeport

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Throw open the windows and enjoy the warm temperatures on Thursday — because Friday may not be nearly as nice across Fairfield County.

The National Weather Service says Thursday will be sunny with a high near 71 degrees across Fairfield County. There is no Red Flag Warning, but the weather service says there is still an elevated threat of wildfires with low humidity and wind gusts of up to 20 mph across Connecticut. 

There is a slight chance of showers after midnight and into Friday morning, with a growing chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 76 degrees. 

By Friday night, showers are likely with thunderstorms possible. Patchy fog will develop after midnight with a low around 53. New rainfall amounts of a tenth to a quarter of an inch are possible ‚ with higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

The weather will pick up by the weekend, with decreasing clouds on Saturday and sunny skies on Sunday with highs of about 60 degrees.
