Spring Temps Return With Rain Moving In Later In Bridgeport

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Spring temperatures will return Thursday afternoon with highs reaching near 71 degrees, though skies will be cloudy and rain is in the forecast. The chance for precipitation is 50 percent.

Record high temperatures were felt across Fairfield County Wednesday mainly inland where Danbury hit 78 degrees. In Stamford, high temperature's reached 76 degrees. Coastal areas along the Long Island Sound saw moderate air, with Bridgeport tying the record of 60 degrees set in 2001.

Thursday's chance of precipitation is 50 percent, while rain is likely overnight, with patchy fog until dusk hours on Friday. The chance of precipitation overnight is 70 percent.

Friday will bring a slight chance of showers early, then mostly cloudy skies, gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 59 degrees. There is still a chance of rain, about 20 percent.

Overnight clearing is expected Friday night with temperatures plunging to nearly freezing, around 33 degrees, and calm winds.

Saturday will be a sunny one, with warm air reaching as high as 57 degrees.

Clouds will hover overnight Saturday with the air cooling down to around 42 degrees.

Sunday will be sunny, with a high near 60 degrees, then rain will return during the overnight hours under cloudy skies, and low temperatures creeping back down to around 41 degrees.
