Showers, Fog And Thunderstorms To Hit Bridgeport Tuesday

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A warm front coming up from the south will bring heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms to Fairfield County on Tuesday.

Scattered showers and moderate to heavy rain will occur throughout the day, along with patchy fog, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will be in the mid 50s, with east winds between 5 and 10 mph. Isolated thunderstorms are possible this afternoon. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight as well, when lows will be in the lower 40s.

A cold front will cross the area Tuesday night, bringing with it a return to dry conditions. High pressure follows on Wednesday, bringing above normal high temperatures in the 60s. It will be mostly sunny during the day on Wednesday and into the night. There is a slight chance of rain after midnight, when gusts of up to 25 mph are also possible.

Significant rainfall is expected to hit on Thursday, when the chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Highs will be in the lower 50s, and winds will be 15 to 20 mph, with gusts of up to 30 mph. Rain is likely on Thursday night, with a chance of thunderstorms in the evening then a chance of showers after midnight. The lows will be in the lower 40s.

Friday will be mostly cloudy, with a 50 percent chance of showers. Highs will be in the mid 50s. There is a 30 percent chance of showers in the evening, when lows will be in the upper 30s.
