Rainy Start To Christmas Eve Is In The Forecast For Bridgeport

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Rain will dampen the start of Christmas Eve on Saturday, so keep umbrellas in the car if you are heading out for last-minute shopping.

The rain will stick around all morning, but move out of the region by the time of Christmas Eve services, according to the National Weather Service.

Saturday's rain will continue to mid-day, with a high near 43 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent. By nightfall, the skies will be partly cloudy, with the mercury dipping below freezing.

The clearing will continue overnight, with sunny and warmer than seasonal weather on Sunday, so don't expect a White Christmas. The high will be about 41 degrees.

Sunday night will bring a cloud covering and things will cool off to about 25 degrees.

The rain will return Monday, when clouds will increase, and the temperature again hovers near 40 degrees. That will make for a dreary holiday, with many off work for the federal holiday.

The is a 30 percent chance of light rain or sprinkles after noon, with increasing clouds, with a high near 41.
