The rain is expected to stop by early evening with temperatures dipping into the high 20s. Winds are expected to intensify, with a forecast for gusts as high as 25 mph.
Friday's forecast from the National Weather Service calls for partly sunny skies followed by isolated snow showers. On New Year's Eve, temperatures are expected to reach the mid 30s during the day. There is a chance of rain and snow between midnight and 3 a.m. The forecast for New Year's Day calls for mostly sunny skies with temperatures reaching the low 40s.
