More Red Flag Fire Warnings For Bridgeport As Spring Settles In

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — It might be beautiful outside, but it's also super dry, which means residents need to be extra careful when dealing with any kind of fire, including cigarettes.

It's so dry, the National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for the entire state from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday.

A red flag warning means critical fire weather conditions are expected. According to the National Weather Service, a combination of strong winds, low humidity and dry fuels (such as undergrowth, shrubs and trees) create a significantly elevated fire risk.

The sunny weather today, with highs in the low 60s will turn to patchy frost late tonight with lows near 38 degrees. Don't worry, the warm and sun return tomorrow with a high near 68 degrees.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 61. Northeast wind 8-15 mph.
Wednesday night: Patchy frost after 2 a.m. Otherwise, clear, with a low around 38. South wind 5-7 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Thursday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 68. Light west wind becoming southwest 6-11 mph in the morning.
Thursday night: A slight chance of showers after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. Southwest wind 59 mph becoming light in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

The weekend begins with showers and thunderstorms Friday but the skies clear a little Saturday with warm temperatures in the upper 60s. The clouds will clear up quickly with sunny skies forecast for Sunday, with a highs in the mid-60s.
