Heavy Rain Could Bring Flash Floods To Bridgeport

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Sunday won't be a day for heading to the beach or getting caught up on gardening. Thunderstorms could bring heavy rain and flooding across Fairfield County, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a Flash Flood Watch until 11 p.m. Sunday.

Showers developing over the area Sunday morning could produce heavy rain with some thunderstorms, the weather service said. The potential for additional showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon could lead to flash flooding, the weather service said.

There is a 90 percent chance of rain as the temperature holds steady in the mid-70s.

There is a 40 percent chance of more showers and thunderstorms Monday with heavy rain possible at times. The high temperature will be in the upper 70s.
