It is currently a chilly 25 degrees in Danbury. The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Monday night when wind chill values are expected to plummet to near zero.
The combination of strong northerly winds and temperatures slipping into the teens will result in the near zero wind chill values late Monday night into Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Monday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 29 degrees but the wind chill values will make it feel like it is between 10 and 15 degrees, according to the forecast.
Winds from the north will be light Monday but could come with gusts as high as 28 miles per hour.
Monday night the temperatures will dip significantly, with the low expected around 5 degrees and wind chill values making it feel even colder, possibly as if it were minus 5 degrees.
Winds will continue to be fairly light, from 10 to 14 miles per hour, though there can be gusts as high as 25 miles per hour overnight.
Tuesday will be sunny with temperatures warming up though wind chills remain steady making the air feel like it is minus 5 to 5 degrees, the National Weather Service says.
Tuesday night will be clear with temperatures dipping to around 12 degrees though winds will be light.
Finally sunny Wednesday will bring the mercury back up to a balmy 40 degrees.
Winds will be light throughout the morning and expect the day to be clear, with temperatures dipping again below freezing to 24 degrees.
Thursday will similarly be sunny with temperatures above freezing again to as high as 40.
