High temperatures should reach into the high 60s on Christmas Eve in Connecticut, according to the National Weather Service. There could be a few lingering showers and fog in the morning, but most of the day should be a cloudy. There is a chance of thunderstorms before noon.
The chance of showers continues through the evening with patchy fog and low temperatures in the mid-50s.
The record high for this date, Dec. 24, in Central Park is 63 degrees, which was broken at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, making for the warmest Christmas Eve on record in New York City. New York City could see temperatures rise even more, with a high of 74 degrees predicted for Thursday.
Christmas Day will remain unseasonably warm with partly sunny skies and highs in the low 60s.
There will be patchy fog in parts of the area prior to 8 a.m. Friday.
Temperatures will hover in the mid-to-high 50s through the weekend.
