Two weekend snowfalls were followed by a blustery Monday, with gusts of up to 65 mph recorded in parts of Fairfield County. The strong winds caused power outages, knocked down trees and blocked roads with fallen debris.
And what will follow Tuesday's sunny but cold weather in the 30s?
It could be a bit of snow. And maybe some rain.
The National Weather Service said there is a 20 percent chance of rain and snow before noon on Wednesday, with a slight chance of rain through 3 p.m. Wednesday. It will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 41 degrees. Winds will make it feel between 25 and 35 degrees.
Temperatures will drop into the mid-20s Wednesday night.
But it will be partly sunny, with a high near 34 on Thursday. And then sunny again on Friday, with a high near 34 degrees.
The sunny forecast continues for the entire Presidents Day weekend — with highs in the mid to upper 40s through Monday.
