A Winter Weather Advisory is in place for 1 p.m. Monday until midnight for all of Connecticut.

The storm brings a significant threat of ice on untreated roads and walkways into Monday evening. Light snow will develop Monday and become steady by afternoon.

A total of 2 to 5 inches of snow is likely across inland Connecticut, with 1 to 3 inches along the coastline.

The snow will transition to freezing rain by Monday evening and will continue into the night and overnight into early Tuesday.

Drivers should brace for an icy Monday evening commute with a glazing of ice likely on untreated road surfaces making for a dangerous commute.

The storm will transition Tuesday to heavy rains with strong winds and flooding potential, the Weather Service warns.

Moderate to heavy rain will bring the potential for urban and poor drainage flooding. A total of 1 to 2 inches of rain could fall with high temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s.

The storm will bring winds of 15 to 30 mph winds with gusts 35 to 45 mph.

There is some potential for minor flooding along small streams across and minor coastal flooding along Long Island Sound at high tide.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 44.
