Convicted CT Felon Nabbed For Attempted Home Invasion, Police Say
A convicted felon has been nabbed for an attempted armed home invasion while the family was inside the home.
The incident took place around 4:30 p.m., Sunday, July 31 in Waterbury.
Officers responded on a report a man was attempting to force entry into a residential home with a firearm while a family was inside, said Lt. Robert Davis, of the Waterbury Police.
During an investigation, officers were able to get a description of the suspect and the vehicle involved, Davis said.

Man Accused Of Entering Garage, Shoving CT Woman, Stealing Her Vehicle
A warrant has been issued for a Connecticut man who allegedly entered a woman's garage, pushed her down, and then stole her SUV.
The incident took place in New Haven County in Wolcott around 9:15 a.m. Thursday, July 21.
During the incident, the suspect, identified as Litchfield County resident Michael Moniz, age 31, of New Milford, the female homeowner went into the garage and was pushed down by Moniz, who then took her car keys (that were on a hook in the garage), and drove off in her 2022 Chevy Trailblazer, said the Wolcott Police.

CT Duo Nabbed On Narcotics, Gun Charges
A Connecticut duo was allegedly nabbed with drugs and a loaded gun after being stopped by police.
The two men were stopped in Waterbury around 9:50 p.m., Friday, July 15 in the area of Bank and Porter streets.
Officers were patrolling the area after receiving complaints from residents in the area of loitering and drinking, said Lt. Ryan Bessette, of the Waterbury Police.
The two men, identified as Marcus Rountree, age 31, and Armande Harrison, age 23, both of Waterbury, were searched by officers following an investigation, Bessette said.

32-Year-Old CT Woman Killed In Crash
A 32-year-old Connecticut woman was killed during a single-car crash over the weekend.
The crash took place in New Haven County around 11:15 p.m., on Saturday, June 11 in Waterbury.
Elizabeth Hynes, age 32, was found by responding police officers to the area of 104 Greenwood Ave., for a one-car crash, said Lt. Ryan Bessette, of the Waterbury Police.
Officers located a vehicle that struck the roadway curb and some landscaping causing the vehicle to roll over onto its side, Bessette said.
Hynes, of Waterbury, was pronounced dead at the scene, he added.
