After Two Shootings, One Fatal, Police In CT Town To Increase Patrols Government officials and police in Connecticut said they are increasing patrols after two shootings over the weekend, one of which left a 27-year-old man dead. The New Haven County shootings in Hamden were "not random acts of violence," said Hamden Mayor Curt Leng and Chief of Police John Sullivan. Widow Describes Sandy Hook Husband As Her 'Champion' Three days after the death of her husband, Jeremy Richman, his wife, Jennifer Hensel, called the Sandy Hook father her "champion," in a letter posted on a GoFundMe page. The page, started by family and friends, following Richman's suicide on Monday to help Hensel and her two children with expenses, described him as a "dedicated father, husband, son, and friend."
