Steven Bannon Set To Report To Danbury Prison To Serve Sentence
Steve Bannon, a once trusted strategist to former President Donald Trump, is set to report to prison Monday, July 1, in Fairfield County. Bannon, a conservative podcaster, is set to begin a four-month sentence at the federal prison in Danbury for defying a congressional subpoena that was investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots. The 70-year-old had turned to the US Supreme Court to avoid reporting to prison. That request was denied on Friday, June 28, by the court. Michael Skakel Won't Be Retried By State For Martha Moxley Greenwich Murder
Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel will not be retired for the death of Martha Moxley in the Belle Haven section of Greenwich in 1975. In a stunning announcement, Connecticut Chief State’s attorney Richard Colangelo said on Friday, Oct. 30, that he would not retry Skakel because he could not prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt. Parking enforcement officers using chalk to mark tires may be acting unconstitutionally, a federal court ruled. Chalking tires to enforce time limits on parking has been a tried and true practice for scofflaws around the country for decades. Most Americans Support Substantial Restrictions On Abortion, Marist Poll Says
The new Marist Poll Survey has revealed that the majority of Americans are in favor of increased restrictions on abortion. About 75 percent of Americans agree that abortion should be limited to the first three months of pregnancy, at most. This includes both those who identify as Republicans, at 92 percent, independents, at 78 percent, and Democrats, at 60 percent, as well as 61 percent who identify as pro-choice. The U.S. Supreme Court announced Monday it will not hear the state of Connecticut's bid to reinstate Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel’s conviction for the murder of Martha Moxley in 1975 in Greenwich.
