Woman Charged With Elder Abuse At Care Center In Fairfield County
A woman who worked as an aide at a Fairfield County care center has been charged with elder abuse after allegedly ignoring a man all night who had fallen out of bed. The incident occurred in Norwalk in November 2023 at the Fairfield Family Care Center. According to Lt. Tomasz Podgorski of the Norwalk Police, an investigation found that an older man was left unattended and injured after falling out of his bed during the overnight hours. A man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for a 2022 double homicide has been nabbed by the US Marshals Service in Connecticut. Kensworth Alton Francis, 29, of Mississauga, Ontario, was arrested in Hartford on Tuesday, March 26. York Regional Police said they are working to extradite Francis to the York Region. Man Accused Of Shooting Victim At Norwalk Home
A Connecticut man has been charged in connection to a shooting at a home in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Norwalk in January at an East Norwalk home. According to Sgt. Ryan Evarts of the Norwalk Police, the victim was found with a gunshot wound to his abdomen and transported to Norwalk Hospital. A Meriden man will spend years in prison after picking up packages full of cocaine that were shipped through the US Postal Service. Jean Carlos Mercado, age 34, was sentenced on Friday, Feb. 10 to 50 months in prison for participating in a drug trafficking organization that sent kilogram quantities of cocaine through the US Mail, according to the US Attorney's Office for the District of Connecticut. A 62-year-old former attorney in Fairfield County is going to spend more than six years behind bars for stealing nearly $2 million from clients, friends and family members.
