In New Haven County, district officials announced that multiple high schools will be dismissed an hour early on Wednesday, Jan. 5, and Friday, Jan. 7 due to a shortage of drivers to get students to and from class. CT Schools Schedule Early Dismissals Due To Extreme Heat Some schools in Connecticut will be letting students out of class early on Monday afternoon as the state contends with the first heatwave of the summer. Schools announced schedule changes for Monday, June 7, as the heat index is expected to top 100 degrees with the school year winding down.
