A new round of thunderstorms with heavy downpours resulted in flooding throughout Fairfield County with a stretch of I-95 closed for a portion of the Thursday evening commute. The closure occurred southbound between Exit 15 and Exit 16 in Norwalk. The northbound side in that area had one lane open. The roadway reopened in both directions around 6 p.m. Shortly after, a vehicle stalled in the center lane, leading to new delays.
