That's because smoke from Canadian wildfires continues its eastward movement, with poor air quality now affecting nearly the entire region and most of the Northeast. In the first image above, areas in orange are projected to have unhealthy air, and areas in yellow have moderate air on Saturday, July 1. Fit Teacher In Rye Says Gym Challenge Sets Good Example A first-grade teacher in the Rye City School District takes a walk every day in all kinds of weather on her lunch break.  She does it for her health but also so her "students see how my activity energizes me to teach and live life to the fullest," said Marianne Kolesar, winner of a fitness challenge at her gym recently. It was the Teachers Challenge at Club Fit Jefferson Valley. In addition, the club awarded a $500 donation to Lakeland School in Shrub Oak as part of the contest.
