Norwalk Public Schools has added another school to its list of those that have moved to full remote learning due to COVID-19. School officials were notified late Thursday, Dec. 10, of new confirmed COVID cases at West Rocks Middle School, said Brenda Wilcox Williams, chief communications officer for Norwalk Public Schools. As Norwalk Public Schools adds another school to full remote learning due to cases of COVID-19, there are currently 14 schools on full remote learning in the district. New HS In Norwalk Will Save Local Taxpayers $100 Million
The new high school coming to Fairfield County will save $100 million thanks to the state's budget plan for the building. A new school building will replace the existing Norwalk High School and be built on the same campus. Norwalk will get a new, expanded high school campus -- totally replacing the existing high school. State Sen. Bob Duff, Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling, Schools Superintendent Steven Adamowski, and other state and local officials announced plans for the new Norwalk High School on Monday, Dec. 9 The 337,000-square-foot facility will be expanded to include three unique school programs for 2,000 students.
