Two Shot, One Hit By Car During Bridgeport Block Party, Police Say Two people were shot and one was hit by a vehicle during a large Memorial Day block party in Fairfield County. Officers responded to a report of shots fired in Bridgeport on Willow Street near Clermont Avenue where a large block party was taking place around 9:45 p.m., Monday, May 31. When officers arrived on the scene, they spotted a Black man wearing all black clothing with a hoodie displaying a gun who took off running toward Bridgeport Hospital, said Scott Appleby, the City of Bridgeport's Director of Emergency Management.
