Fatal Crash: 44-Year-Old ID'd As Victim After SUV Slams Into Embankment, CT State Police Say
A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash overnight in a residential neighborhood in Connecticut.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, July 1 in Litchfield County.
A 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander was traveling northbound in North Canaan on Canaan Valley Road near Carlson Road when the SUV left the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned, according to Connecticut State Police.
The operator of the Outlander, Hartford County resident Deane William Moores, age 44, of Plainville, succumbed to injuries he suffered, said police.
The crash is now under investigation.

A 22-year-old from the region was arrested for reckless driving and other charges in connection to a fatal crash that killed a 58-year-old man.
The crash took place in Litchfield County on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, on Route 44, in the town of North Canaan.
According to Connecticut State Police, a Volkswagen Jetta, operated by Essex County resident Carl Blair, age 58, of Danvers, Massachusetts, was traveling on Route 44, when his vehicle was hit by a Fed-Ex Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, driven by Hampden County resident Jarad Seery, age 22, of Holyoke, Massachusetts.

One Suspect Charged, Another At Large After Attempted Bank Robbery, CT State Police Say
A suspect has been apprehended in connection to an attempted armed robbery at a bank in Connecticut and police say they're searching for a second suspect.
The incident happened Friday afternoon, Aug. 6 in Litchfield County at the National Iron Bank in Cornwall, located on Furnace Brook Road.
One suspect was taken into custody without incident, state police said.

Five From Connecticut Among Six Nabbed For Fentanyl Trafficking Ring Bust
Six people have been nabbed for allegedly being part of a large-scale, elaborate heroin and fentanyl trafficking organization that has been broken up, according to U.S. Attorney for Connecticut John Durham.
Durham announced that the six, five of whom are from Connecticut, were arrested on federal narcotics distribution and money laundering charges for their role in the drug distribution ring, which operated throughout the state of Connecticut.

Investigation Leads To New Charges After Fatal Crash, CT State Police Say
An 18-year-old teen has been charged with manslaughter in connection with a fatal crash that took place last year in Salisbury.
Christopher Hoyt, of Sharon, was arrested via a warrant on Wednesday, March 27, while in court on another matter, said the Connecticut State Police.
Hoyt's arrest comes after an intensive investigation by Trooper Corinne Swift of the crash that took place on July 20, 2018, on Housatonic River Road when he lost control of his Jeep Wrangler while making a turn, went up an embankment and flipped the vehicle.
